Stanford belongs to national consortia that recruit, retain, and finance engineering students, who add diveristy to the school. We are the number one private school supporter of the Consortium for Graduate Degrees for Minorities in Engineering and Sciences (GEM). We are key particiants in the National Physical Sciences Consortium, the National Science Foundation Fellowships, NASA Graduate Researchers Program, Lucent and AT&T Cooperative Research Fellowship Program and Graduate Research Program for Women, Sloan Minority Fellowships, and the University Cooperation for Atmospheric Research/SOARS.
