Do I need to register?
Yes, advance registration is requested. On-line registration for alumni will begin Tuesday August 4, 2009.
SPACE IS LIMITED.Is there a fee to attend?
No. Stanford Engineering alumni can attend the job fair and career workshop free of charge.
Who can register for this event?
The event is open only to Stanford School of Engineering alumni. In addition to a high concentration of technical jobs, employers are also recruiting for general management, marketing/sales, and business development positions (consult the Participating Companies link to see a detailed listing of positions being offered). The career workshop at the AJF will focus on career search topics and will be suitable for all alumni.
I am a current Stanford student. Can I register for this event?
No. The Alumni Job Fair is sponsored expressly for alumni who are looking for new career options and are available to start working right away. Since most students are not available to start working immediately, we ask that students do not register for the Alumni Job Fair. Stanford sponsors several career fairs for students during the year including the Career Development Center's Career Fair in October and the School of Engineering's Opportunity Job Fair in January.
Can I bring a guest?
Given our space limitation this year, only Stanford School of Engineering alumni can attend.
How will I know if the jobs/companies I am interested in will be at the Fair?
Click on the Participating Companies link to see the current listing of recruiting companies with a description of the jobs available and qualifications sought.
How many recruiting organizations will participate in the AJF?
Even in the current economic environment we expect more than 40 companies to participate.
Should I bring a résumé?
Yes! Bring multiple copies. There are no copy services available at the Computer History Museum so be sure to bring plenty of résumés to hand out.
What is the dress code?
There is no formal dress code although business casual or professional dress is recommended.
Where can I find out more information about Stanford's career services for alumni?
Representatives from the Career Development Center, the Stanford Alumni Association and the Stanford Center for Professional Development will be at the fair to provide you with information about career services for alumni.
Where can I get something to drink or eat while attending the fair?
Light refreshments will be available in the lobby on the 2nd floor of the museum.
