Employer Frequently Asked Questions

I think my new employer will return, since on their first appearance at the job fair they got an employee! I was told they were very happy with the fair, and so am I.

When and where is the Alumni Job Fair?

Thursday, September 17, 2009 from
4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.
Computer History Museum

Why is the AJF being held off campus?

Due to space limitations on campus, the event has moved to a larger off-site location that will better accommodate the growing needs of the AJF.

Who is invited to the AJF?

Graduates of Stanford's School of Engineering with BS, MS, Eng or PhD degrees. Alumni from other schools at Stanford are invited to attend as well.

How many recruiting organizations will participate in the AJF?

We expect over 90 organizations to participate.

How many alumni will participate in the AJF?

We expect between 500-700 Stanford alumni to attend.

Registrations will be accepted until we have reached our maximum capacity. To meet printing deadlines, employers must register no later than August 14 to be included in the program booklet.

What are the costs and specs for submitting art work for the program booklet?

Cost: $300 half page or $500 full page
Acceptable formats: .eps, .tiff, or high-quality .jpeg
Ad dimensions:
Full page = 8"W x 10"H"
Half page= 8"W x 4.5" H (horizontal); or 3.5"W x 10" H (vertical)

Please submit camera-ready, black and white artwork no later than August 14 to
Barbara McCain.

May I bring a display and/or a backdrop?

Yes, as long as it fits around the provided 2'x8' table and does not interfere with adjacent tables or project into the area in front of the table. Any displays that spill over into other company table areas may be asked to be taken down by Stanford Engineering staff.

Will we have access to the internet and electricity?

The Museum has an open wireless line that does not require a password. Please assume that with 90+ companies at the Job Fair, downloading time may be slow and plan accordingly. There will also be an IT Technician available to you should you encounter technical issues you can’t solve.

Each table comes with its own supply of electricity and plug-in.

Will we be provided refreshments?

A box meal will be available for recruiters in the Employer Lounge on the 2nd floor starting at 2:30 p.m. Refreshments will also be available throughout the day.

Note: Employers and Alumni will each have separate lounge areas. We request that employers do not enter the Alumni Lounge area as this is intended to be a space for alumni to network with each other, unwind, and/or prepare for their visits to company tables.
