Stanford Engineering Puzzle

April 2007

SEQ2 is a new science and engineering quad now under construction on the western side of campus. When it is completed over the next several years, Stanford students and faculty will truly have 21st century research and teaching facilities. The four new buildings will become centers for the study of the environment and energy; bioengineering and chemical engnineering; and nanotechnology. A fourth building will be a new center for Stanford Engineering, complete with a state-of-the-art library.

Still, as with any new set of buildings, it may be tough to get around at first. There may be some very smart, very lost people in the halls until people get comfortable. Directions for puzzle In this puzzle your job is to navigate around SEQ2, moving from building to building like a student who has three classes, some homework to drop off, and office hours to visit (use the undo and redo buttons if you realize you've made a mistake, or just refresh the page). For fun we will post (below) the names of 10 alumni who successfully complete the puzzle and e-mail the secret word in the subject line to staff member Marge Kastner. She'll post entry number 1, 11, 21, 31, 41, etc. up to 91.

You must have Flash installed to run this puzzle, which was designed by Scott Kim of Shufflebrain and programmed by Larry Doyle of Cyberiandesign.
