Application and Selection Process

All application materials are due on or before January 25, 2010. An application is not complete until all materials have been received, including the letter of recommendation. Each applicant can apply for a maximum of five positions, but only needs to fill-out one application form.

A complete application consists of: (1) an application form completed online; (2) a resume and your Stanford transcript or, if you have just started at Stanford, your most recent transcript from another university; (3) one letter of recommendation.

  • Part 1 - Application Form. This form must be completed online. Once submitted, your name is added to the applicant list. Please complete this form before sending the remainder of your application materials (2 and 3 below).
  • Part 2 - Transcripts and Resume. Please submit an unofficial transcript of all coursework at Stanford University and, if necessary, at previous colleges or universities (official transcripts). Also provide a one-page resume. These materials should be sent to the address below.
  • Part 3 - Letter of Recommendation. One letter of recommendation is required. Recommendations can be from professors (Stanford or elsewhere), employers, or anyone else you feel can attest to your skills and your ability to thrive in this type of internship in China. You should inform your recommender which internship position(s) you are applying for. The letter of recommendation can be submitted online or sent by the recommender to this address:

Selection Process: Stanford internship candidates will be selected based on overall fit with the program and with the position for which they are applying. Stanford will conduct the initial screening of applicants. The companies will then review the applications and, in some cases, conduct interviews to finalize their selection.
