Stanford graduate students named Siebel Scholars
The Siebel Scholars program was established by the Thomas and Stacey Siebel Foundation in 2000 to recognize the most talented students at the world’s leading graduate schools of business and in computer science, bioengineering and energy science. Each year, 93 graduate students at the top of their class are selected during their final year of studies based on outstanding academic performance and leadership to receive a $35,000 award toward their final year of studies. Today, according to the Siebel scholarship website, an active community of more than 1,000 scholars serves as advisers to the Siebel Foundation and works collaboratively to find solutions to society’s most pressing problems.
Following are the 2016 Stanford awardees:
Bioengineering: NATHANIEL CIRA, DEREK MACKLIN, MELINA MATHUR, CARMICHAEL ONG, LIVIA ZARNESCU
Computer science: GIOVANNI CAMPAGNA, VIVEK JAIN, MATTHEW PICK, JORDAN RABET and LILI YANG
Business: IBRAHIM ALSUWAIDI, DORIAN BERTSCH, MICHAEL DING, MICHAEL MESTER, and SARAH WANG
