Daniel Barreto
Dr. Daniel Barreto is a Lecturer at Stanford University where he started a new graduate class focused on the latest trends and disruptive technologies in IT (Information Technology). He has extensive experience in areas such as virtualization, cloud computing, networking and mobility; and holds a keen interest on the way technologies create a competitive edge and generate business value.
Dr. Barreto is also the General Manager of the Mobile Cloud BU at Wyse Technology, responsible to research, develop, and market cloud computing based products and services for mobile users. Prior to his GM role at Wyse, he served as Chief Software Architect, where he was responsible for overall architecture and software innovation for the company. Barreto joined Wyse in 2003 and has been responsible for growing Wyse's software portfolio with new award winning products resulting in over 50 patent applications (23 as inventor or co-inventor). Prior to joining Wyse, he was a Staff Engineer at IBM in the Systems and Storage Division.
