How to Search our Faculty Database

This database contains personal profiles of all Stanford Engineering faculty, including their contact information, department affiliation(s), and research interests. The database also contains profiles on some other Stanford faculty affiliated with the School of Engineering.

Quick Search

Use this Quick Search to:

1. Find a specific faculty member

Type in all or part of a person's name. If unsure of spelling, type in partial name. For best results, search by last name only.

2. Find all faculty members conducting research in a specific area

Type in the type of research. A partial word (e.g., nano, bio) will enhance results. For best results, type in the singular form of the word instead of the plural (e.g. semiconductor versus semiconductors).

Results:

For multiple results, you can sort by last name or department.

Faculty List

You can find a list of all Stanford Engineering faculty using this field. Display by Name will give you all faculty listed in alphabetical order. Display by Department will list departments in alphabetical order, then faculty within each department.

Detailed Search

• Note whether you want to match all fields or any of the fields
• You can sort your results either by name or department

Use this search option to find a combination of search criteria, e.g. all faculty in one particular department who are working in a specific area of research.

Using the Degree Information field, you may find all faculty with degrees from the same university.

Using the Distinctions field, you can search all faculty with specific honors or awards.

Using the Honor Society drop down menu, you can search for all faculty belonging to a specific honor society.
