Please join us for an evening with John O'Duinn, author of Distributed Teams.John O'Duinn is a software developer, architect, Director, and Founder who has written code and led teams in companies ranging from four person startups to non-profits to multinationals - including the US Government as part of the U.S. Digital Service in the Obama White House.
He has been working in distributed companies of one form or another for 27 years, leading distributed teams for 14 years and coaching/mentoring fast-growing distributed companies for 6 years.
As this way of working became more mainstream, John noticed a lack of practical material in this area, so he wrote his book Distributed Teams: The Art and Practice of Working Together While Physically Apart. This practical easy-to-read management book deals with immediate tactical issues, more complex human dynamics, as well as wider social, diversity, and environmental aspects.
In 2018, John also helped write the State of Vermont's "Remote Worker" law - a very different approach to Economic Development which has been so wildly successful that John is now helping draft bills and write policies on this for multiple other jurisdictions world-wide.
