The faculty of the StorageX Initiative work together to tackle the complex, interdisciplinary challenges in creating modern energy storage systems. StorageX funds research to prove new energy storage technologies and concepts.
Working closely with industrial partners, StorageX develops in-depth technical and commercial understanding of the emerging challenges in the energy storage industry. StorageX's teams leverage Stanford's wide-ranging capabilities and expertise to overcome the multi-faceted, real-world barriers to a better energy future for all.
Yi Cui is Professor of Materials Science and Engineering, of Photon Science, a Senior Fellow at the Precourt Institute for Energy, and Professor, by Courtesy, of Chemistry. Cui studies nanoscale phenomena and their applications broadly defined. His research interests include: Nanocrystal and nanowire synthesis and self-assembly, electron transfer and transport in nanomaterials and at the nanointerface, nanoscale electronic and photonic devices, batteries, solar cells, microbial fuel cells, water filters and chemical and biological sensors.
Will Chueh is Associate Professor of Materials Science and Engineering and Senior Fellow at the Precourt Institute for Energy.
