Leadership Annual Giving

Innovation means trying new things and, in some cases, failing and trying again.

The Engineering Fund enables us to take these risks. In a fast‐moving discipline like engineering, we must be ready to seize opportunities. Unrestricted funds allow us to direct resources where they are most needed, when they are needed. This flexibility helps us hire, support and retain the most promising new faculty, fund out‐of‐the‐box ideas, and explore new research concepts. It helps us create an unparalleled experience for our students by helping us fund scholarships and summer programs, expand mentorship and invest in new approaches to teaching engineering. Gifts to the Engineering Fund have a powerful and immediate impact. We thank you for considering a generous annual commitment.

Terman and Dean’s Circle donors learn about the school’s latest achievements at an annual event for our most engaged and generous alumni and friends and receive an annual report on the impact of their giving. All Leadership Giving donors have access to a campus liaison who provides special communications throughout the year, including research news and invitations to school events. They are also recognized on Stanford’s Honor Rolls website.

How to Make a Gift

Why Give?
Stanford Engineering inspired me to follow my dreams with a great education that prepared me to be a part of the NASA team that landed Americans on the moon and brought them safely back to Earth. I want to help future Stanford Engineers make their own impact and follow their dreams.
Dave Spokely, BS ’50, Mechanical Engineering, MS ’51, Engineering Science

Why Stanford

Why Give?
I give back because I believe institutions like Stanford, where young people come without legacy thinking and pressures of everyday life, can be creative, break glass and really continue to drive incredible new innovation. I want to make sure Stanford is set up to help that process.
Dallas Clement, MS ’90, Engineering—Economic Systems
