Gifts of all sizes play an essential role at Stanford Engineering. Whether you choose to give back through annual gifts, endowed faculty funds, graduate fellowships, equity and inclusion initiatives, or the Engineering Fund, every cent counts.

Here are 5 more reasons to give.

Gradient

1. Federal funding has declined.

Federal support for university research is significant, but it’s been declining for years in real dollars.

Gradient

2. Stanford’s endowment does not cover most expenses.

Stanford’s endowment covers only about 20% of the university’s budget. The university must fund more than two‐thirds of its operating expenses from other sources.

3. Every gift makes a difference.

Most gifts made to Stanford and Engineering are less than $1,000. But together they add up to millions for student aid, academics, research and programs so we can educate leaders and tackle global issues.

Building

4. Flexible gifts inspire creativity & innovation.

The majority of gifts to Stanford — and 75% of endowment funds — are directed toward particular schools, departments or programs. Annual, expendable gifts provide vital flexibility.

5. Stanford’s mission is global.

Stanford has the depth and breadth to help with complex, global problems. You can help.
