Leap into Action

A podcast about catalyzing a career

How do you recognize a pivotal moment in your career? And more important, how do you make the most of it? Those are perennial questions, and they’re particularly relevant to this season’s newly minted graduates, who are busy building the relationships and exploring the opportunities that will support their future accomplishments. Tina Seelig, Professor of the Practice in Stanford Engineering’s Department of Management Science and Engineering, spends much of her time identifying attitudes and skills that foster innovation and creativity. In her 7-episode LEAP! podcast, she invites Stanford alumni with careers in technology, engineering, human resources and venture capital to unpack the often overlooked and under-taught soft skills critical to their success. The advice Seelig turns up isn’t just for new graduates, though. Established professionals, too, have much to gain from reconsidering their working relationships, opening themselves up to new opportunities and bringing grace and awareness to challenging negotiations.
