Mechanical Engineering Professor Sheri Sheppard wins teaching honor

Sheppard recognized for contributions to engineering education.

Sheri Sheppard, a professor of mechanical engineering, is the winner of the 2012 American Society of Engineering Education Ralph Coats Roe Award,  in recognition of her outstanding teaching and contributions to the profession.

Sheppard, a nationally recognized expert in engineering education, led a three-year study of engineering education, "Educating Engineers," at the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching. In 2010, she received the Stanford's Walter J. Gores Award, the university's highest honor teaching excellence.
