Graduate Pathways to STEM
Bay Area Graduate Pathways to STEM (GPS) is a one-day symposium co-sponsored with UC Berkeley. At GPS, students attend informative workshops that address the benefits of pursuing an advanced degree in Engineering, both MS and PhD. In addition, participants get the opportunity to connect with graduate students from Stanford and UC Berkeley who can offer guidance on the graduate application process.
The mission of Bay Area GPS is to inspire diverse talent to become the next generation of innovative leaders through advanced engineering degrees. Bay Area GPS promotes graduate school opportunities for students who have been historically minoritized in STEM, including first-generation students and low-income students at Bay Area, Northern California, and select Southern California universities.
Program Details
GPS will take place in person at UC Berkeley on Sat., Oct. 15, 2022 from 9am to 12:30pm
This one-day symposium is full of events and workshops that give students invaluable information on things like: navigating the application process, how to find the right research project, how to get funding, healthy ways to cope with exam stress, and the overall graduate school experience. Between informative lectures and the chance to connect one-on-one with peers and mentors, GPS gives participants a space to ask questions and find answers about pursuing an advanced degree.
