William Perry

Perry is well known internationally to the arms control community through his many contributions to the field of international security, and he currently co-directs the Stanford-Harvard Preventive Defense Project. He leads the development of a strong new academic focus in science and technology policy using MS&E core concepts. Honors include:

  • American Academy of Arts and Sciences

  • National Academy of Engineering

  • Presidential Medal of Freedom (1997)

  • U.S. Department of Defense Distinguished Service Medal (1980) (1981)
