Stanford belongs to national consortia that recruit, retain and finance engineering students, who add diversity to the school. We are the number one private school supporter of the Consortium for Graduate Degrees for Minorities in Engineering and Sciences (GEM). We are key participants in the National Physical Sciences Consortium, the National Science Foundation Fellowships, NASA Graduate Researchers Program, Lucent and AT&T Cooperative Research Fellowship Program and Graduate Research Program for Women, Sloan Minority Fellowships, and the University Cooperation for Atmospheric Research/SOARS.
There are many Stanford awards and scholarships available to undergraduates. Stanford Undergraduate Advising and Research provides a long list of scholarships and fellowships, with extensive details on deadlines and requirements. External awards require you to apply directly to them, with more details on their respective webpages.
Our hope is that this list will serve as a useful supplemental resource - it is not a substitution for consulting with departments, financial aid offices, and other national sources. If any information in this listing is outdated, please contact the Office of Student Affairs. We welcome your suggestions.
There are Stanford Graduate Fellowships, School of Engineering Fellowships, Research Assistantships, Teaching Assistantships, Course Assistantships, external fellowships and assistantships, and diversity awards. To apply for the Stanford fellowships and assistantships, you need only to be admitted to one of our graduate programs. RAs are managed by the faculty, TAs/CAs by the departments and EDP. External awards require you to apply to them directly.
