Driven by curiosity and fueled by creativity, Stanford Engineering provides our graduate students with the tools they need to become innovators, change agents, and pioneers in engineering research. With nine departments and the Institute for Computational and Mathematical Engineering (ICME), Stanford Engineering employs more than 260 faculty who promote a holistic approach to research, teaching, mentorship, and service.

Who we are

Stanford Engineering is home to 3,600 graduate students, who come from 44 of the 50 U.S. states and more than 80 countries. With 54 percent of our graduate students enrolled in a PhD program and 46 percent pursuing their master’s degree, our school is made up of students from a variety of backgrounds, identities, and experiences. Our international students make up 42 percent of our graduate student community and hail from countries including Argentina, Australia, Bangladesh, Turkey, the United Arab Emirates, the United Kingdom, and Zambia. Our graduate students come here from more than 380 colleges and universities around the world.
